Cathedral/Tray
Ceilings
Dining
Room ceiling modification from flat to cathedral with up light molding.

BEFORE:
This picture really shows how the room was before any work had been started.
The flat ceiling, no trim around the front window or any other section of
the room for that matter. The owner wanted to turn this into a dramatic
dinning room that was off the entrance of the home.

The second picture shows the ceiling
becoming a cathedral and the tray ceiling framed around the perimeter of
the entire room. Thus allowing us to have a location for the accent lights
and A/C vents that needed to be installed

The third and forth picture shows
the finish ceiling with the chandelier hanging down into the center of the
room. The ceiling and end walls of the cathedral ceiling were painted a
very soft robin egg blue. This allowed the accent lights inside the tray
molding to give the illusion of a sun rise or a sun set depending on the
time of the day.

Box
Ceiling

BEFORE:
The first picture shows the starting and rough frame work that goes on before
you add all the pine and decorative moldings. The picture also gives you a great
view of the beam and the post location separating the two areas of said rooms.

AFTER: This picture is a close up of the cougher
boxes and all the trim inside each one. There
were about 12 pieces associated with each separate box area.

The
last view gives you a longer length view of the entire ceiling. This ceiling
is above the entire hallway area, thus leading you to the other areas of the
home. All though the ceiling is lowered by all the trim, the appearance and
feeling of a much taller ceiling is achieved. The heaviness of the woodwork
in the entranceway warms you up for what is to come when you stroll through
remaining areas of the home.
Beam
Posts

BEFORE:
The top picture shows the old portion of the house and the starting of the
beam and post that are going to separate the new dining room from the hallway
area. Viewing the stages and the plywood that is put in place as the first stage.

This
picture shows the plywood wrapped in pine with all the decorative molding starting
to be placed over the pine. The chair rail in the back ground goes around the
entire room and up the stairway into the hall. The old hand rail is now gone
with a new more decorative rail meshed into the new molding.

AFTER: This next picture shows the finished post with
all the trim and fully painted with three coats of oil brilliant white. This
against the newly finished hardwood floor really pops out at you when you
enter the home.
The final pictures show the cougher ceiling that
follows the path of the new hallway area, flanked by the columns that are
viewed as supporting the beam between the two living areas.
This finish look allows you to feel like there
are really two rooms in the same area.
